Singapore Airlines (SIA) continues to soar high with innovation and new services. Indeed, the pride of Singapore is getting better and bolder.
With SIA’s previous developments, it has been globally acknowledged as one of the most trusted and reliable airlines. Yet, this isn’t stopping the five-star airline from further enhancing its services to ensure unparalleled flying experience for all its passengers.
Upgrades and Improvements in 2012
In October, SIA ordered five additional Airbus A380s and 20 A350s, all amounting to US$7.5 billion or SG$9.4 billion. The new airbuses are set to be delivered from 2017. Apart from that, SIA previously ordered another 20 A350s, which is expected to arrive on 2015. All of these investments are in accordance with the airline’s plan of running a young and modern fleet.
With the brand new aircrafts, SIA guarantees more travel destinations for every traveller. SIA not only continues to widen its network but also assures every traveller greater piece of mind.
In-flight Cabin Products
SIA is also aware that the needs of passengers also evolves, and that products must not be static. To continue meeting the demands and expectations of every traveller, in August 2012, the airline hired two world renowned design firms, James Park Associates (JPA) and DesignworksUSA, to develop brilliant in-flight cabin products. Such upgrades will be presented from the second half of 2013.
SIA will roll out improved cabin interiors and seats, and also latest in-flight entertainment. Business Class passengers will be able to doze off comfortably as seats can now be reclined up to 125 degrees and be converted into full-flat beds. First Class passengers will also enjoy more privacy and personal stowage spaces, while economy Class passengers will be able to relax more with improved seats and headrest comfort. In-flight entertainment system for the Business Class will feature a 15.4-inch LCD monitor and a 9-inch screen for Economy Class.
